Rules

So as usual here are the rules for 2026 Specimen Hunt
Start date will be the 1st January to the 1st of December 2026 , and last entries will be on the
10th of January so whoever is paid up before the first will get their cards before the first.
Cards will be sent through Whatsapp print them off and get them laminated but this year we will
also accept cards on mobile devices provided the details are clear in the photos👍
Make sure when taking the photo that they are nice and clear showing the proper
measurements species ID and cards 👍🎣🎣🎣

€10 entry fee 100% pay out on tackle voucher’s no cash pay
out this is to help out our tackle shops. If you are sending on revolut please add your name and
specimen hunt to the tag so I know whats what. I

Rules for the specimen hunt
 1.⁠ ⁠Competition starts 1st of January 2026 and ends at Midnight on the 1st of December
2026.

 2.⁠ ⁠Only Length based specimens on the list count

 3.⁠ ⁠You can fish anywhere on the island of Ireland

 4.⁠ ⁠Only shore caught fish within tidal or saltwater areas can be entered, this includes the
open sea and estuaries and any other saltwater water body that is subject to tidal
movements

 5.⁠ ⁠Fish can only be entered if fairly caught by rod and line (No netting, potting, snagging,
stroke fishing etc)

 6.⁠ ⁠If measurements are changed in 2026 and you already have a fish entered your fish size
will still be counted but note that once the new specimen sizes are out the size
requirements will be updated for the comp.

 7.⁠ ⁠Pictures must be clear enough to be able to see the correct measurement and card, if
this isn’t showing it will not be accepted

 8.⁠ ⁠One point per fish

 9.⁠ ⁠You can only enter one species but you may update your specimen length if you get a
larger one.

10.⁠ ⁠In the event of a points draw, draws will be decided by total length of fish in cm

11.⁠ ⁠All pictures must be added to WhatsApp page or emailed to
irishanglingadventures@gmail.com

12.⁠ ⁠Videos as proof are accepted provided the card is present and legible

13.⁠ ⁠Cards must be visible submission, We will allow the use of an image of your specimen
card on a mobile device to be used, BUT THIS MUST CLEARLY SHOW THE
REQUIRED DETAILS.

14.⁠ ⁠Any angler not abiding with the rules will be disqualified

15.⁠ ⁠Committee decision is final

Although it is unlikely to happen, if anyone is deemed to be cheating in the specimen hunt, they
will be removed and banned from joining again
